Matt Biolos' fish-shaped RNF'96 design was brought to the North Shore by teenagers Chris Ward and Cory Lopez, where they left an indelible mark on the surfing world. Later, they were featured in the seminal surf movie '97, 5'5" x 19 ¼.

The 1996 RNF board radically challenged 20 years of stagnation in contest conception and was responsible for a revolution in high-performance hybrids. The key element of Matt's board is that it is designed for performance, inspired by competitive surfers of the 70s and 80s, with a relatively tucked tail designed to rip everything in its path, not just in small waves. but also in all sizes and shapes.
